Well Worth the Price

"Not only is this dinning ware beautiful, it is also highly durable. My mother had inherited her set from her mother a few years back. It was all on display nicely in the china cabniet on the second floor of our home. Our house was struck by a tornado, during a hurricane and completely leveled. The china cabniet was dumped out over our side yard. We recovered almost all of the, only losing one or two plates. Even the glasses we alright. I know it was a bit of luck, but craftsmanship can not be over looked. The joy you'll get from these dishes well makes up for any hesitation with the price."

"Old Country Roses is a classic. The white porcelain is pure and pristine looking. The rose colors are rich and full. When I set my table with these, people ooh and ahh. I've even spied them looking at the underside to find out the maker!! These are for use year round, and are particularly spectacular in the fall. If you are looking for elegance and a lush appearance, this is it!"

"I have been collecting Royal Albert Old Country Rose bone china for more than 10 years. Most of the pieces were purchased as place settings. I am now the proud owner of 32 such place settings. These pieces increase in value with time. Precious few dinnerware items can stake that claim. The pattern is timeless and can be used without regard to season. Old Country Rose makes for a beautiful Christmas table and brightens a summer breakfast table. For best longevity results, bone china with 23 karat gold accent should be hand washed in a mild dishwashing liquid, rinsed in hot water, and dried with a soft cloth. Over time the gold will flake away should it be repeatedly subjected to automatic dishwashing."

"we got a really good bargain during the mother's day sale, hubby purchased the 12-piece dinner plates, cups and saucers. i was so thrilled the minute i saw the box! i will add more to my collection. these are really pretty :)
i have a beautiful rose garden in my back yard, my husband would come home fromw work with several rose plants to add to my garden, but i have asked him if he can buy this dinnerware for me instead... i want to complete this set by the end of the year. thanks heaps!"

"Im in my 20s & most girls my age register for Vera Wang boring gold/white sets. I registered for Old Country Roses (OCR) collection, and every single guest who bought my gift wanted to keep the wedding gift for themselves. These are beyond beautiful. I just received my 3pc teaset and I cant stop looking at it. I also got Rim Soup Bowl, 12pc dinner set, oval baker, square baker, devil egg dish, bread plates (nice size for small sides or salads), sentimental platter, and Im highly addicted. Just a note that 3pc teaset is full size products and 9 pc teaset are miniatures (almost for decoration, not for use, the cups are size of saki shots). I used this full set for thanksgiving and food looked even more presentable compared to my cooking :) The food just slides off when washing dishes. Most of these items are diswasher safe which is superb because I was afraid the gold plating would come off. Macys in store service was excellent. I even got a discount for buying off my registery. My items from mail delivered on time and without any damage. Im impressed by Macys and their OCR collection. I would like to see a large OCR serving tray and other OCR holiday items."

"I took my daughter in to pick out her china patern and register. After first looking at this pattern, I talked her into looking at all the others before she got registered. "I just bought the three piece tea set the other day for a tea party/brunch I was having with friends yesterday. I was so happy to see that all items held a lot of creamer, tea, and sugar. The colors of this set are stunning! And the gold rim is the perfect accent.
As another reviewer stated, this china is durable. I was cleaning the tea pot and bumped it on my granite countertop, not even a scratch appeared on it.
I know, I will love this tea set for years, and I can't wait to start the tradition of an afternoon tea with my daughter."

"First time I saw this piece at Macy, I fall in love with it and starting from that day I keep looking and reading review about this chinaware online and keep asking my husband to buy it for me. "I ordered this china set on line and it is even more gorgeous & impressive in person.
The yellow and plum roses are of a rich hue and are set off beautifully with the gold trim. I need to use a very neutral tablecloth when using this china. I actually dropped one of the saucers (onto a rug)and happy to report it did not break-so sturdier than it appears."

"One day, some time ago, for no specific reason, my husband came home with a surprise gift, 4 place settings of Old Country Roses Bone China! One look at this lovely pattern and the exceptional quality and I was completely hooked! I now have a service for 8 and I'm adding more place settings. We have purchased the soup tureen, the tea set, as well as several other serving pieces and the flatware. I simply can't seem to get enough of this beautiful china! I use it on holidays and special ocassions and sometimes just because it's Tuesday or Wednesday or....! Although it is said to be dishwasher safe, I always hand wash each piece. One day this set will go to my daughter and then my granddaughters and I'm sure it will bring them as much pleasure as it has brought me."

"I think this pattern is ideal. You can make it highly formal with the linens and flatware you use or you can bring it down a notch if you have the open concept floor plan, as I do, where your kitchen dining and living space all combine. I have a great many pieces and I know I will never tire of this beautiful china. I even have a Christmas tea set where some of the roses are replaced by ornaments and you can use it with the the traditional pattern without even noticing the difference if you aren't really looking."
