"I love this kettle. This is my second -- the first met with an untimely accident when someone placed it on the gas burner! "This is, without a doubt, the most superior electric kettle I have had the pleasure of using. I like tea. No. I LOVE tea. Hot, steamy tea in the morning is a wonderful thing. This is the BEST way to heat my water for that lovely "cuppa" that I enjoy daily, at least. I use it to heat water for cocoa and to boil for the stove because it is faster. I LOVE the shut-off feature and I gave one to my 90 year young mother... just in case she dozes off, the house will not burn down! It is a great gift and the three people I have given it to swear by it. I was introduced to it in Georgia while my dear friend was recovering from surgery. I went to the home to help her and her mom had one in her kitchen; some 17 years old and it performed LIKE NEW. Thank you for this great item. I LOVE it!"

"I had gone through two other tea kettles this past year before The Cuisinart Electric Kettle. No joking when I say this is the greatest tea kettle in heat temperature and style . In fact I am ordering another one for my art studio. Water heats quicker then a stove or microwave;turning off itself at boiling point. No worry of burning kettles. You just fill with water and press down a knob. The water is hot sooner than preparing your cup of tea or coffee. I'm sticking to what I know has no flaws. I've even given up soda's for a nice cup of hot tea."

"I've had this kettle for two years and I'm buying a second to take to work. It's great because you can fill it, turn it on, and come back at your next break to hot water. It turns itself off when it reaches a boil and can be set on the table without a hot pad. I got one for my elderly mom who lives alone, knowing that if she forgot about it, there would be no repercussions. I love that it looks like a tea kettle but with more convenience than a stove-top model. Practically perfect in every way!"

"This kettle was great until it lasted. We bought it in 2007 and it is now 2009 when it finally gave out. Not sure why the power light and power no longer works.
We loved it for oatmeal, coffee for the french press, tea, cooking and other cooking/baking needs that required hot water in an instant. Power shuts off automatically. We use this thing from morning until night. Not sure if we will get another one. Trying to see if Cuisinart will honor a warranty. To be determined...
We would have given it 5 stars if it lasted more than two years."

"use it 5 to 8 times a day for tea or hot water. it boils in 7 to 8 min. it is quite than other kettle. water contact little pastic for max water level. this one no pastic smell which I did in other water kettles. I like it very much. Great for busy me or sleepy people like my elderly dad. I have had it for 6 mos already. After vingar wash, same like new. I hope it would last many years to come."

Switch breaks after 12-18 months,June 14, 2009

"We have gone through two of these kettles in 2.5 years. The first was replaced under warranty. The on/off switch on both broke after about 1 year. We were told by the manufacturer that this is a known defect. We were otherwise happy with the product and will likely keep replacing them under warranty until Cuisinart discontinues the product or fixes the problem."

"This kettle is outstanding. It boils water very quickly; it takes only five minutes to bring a full kettle of cold water to a rolling boil. The cordless feature is wonderful. "We originally loved this cute little kettle. Unfortunately, it has a few design flaws. After about 6 months of using it daily, it stopped working. We called Cuisinart and they replaced it for free within 2 weeks. Unfortunately, the same thing happened again today. There is a problem with the connection in the conductor in the base. It stops making a connection with the main unit and won't turn on when you press down the lever.
Another flaw, is that there is no way to appropriately clean the residue that forms inside the kettle. After a lot of use, you'll get scaling. And, the scaling starts to break off and float around in the water. We're going to try another brand and see if we can find one that works better."

"I love this tea kettle! I have always been wary of electric kettles but I got this for Christmas and decided to give it a try. It heats up the water so quickly. The bottom does not get hot so it is can be set down on any surface without worrying about damage. I love that the cord is not attached to the actual kettle, so the kettle maintains its clean look.
