"I will start off by saying that Youth Dew Bath Oil is my signature winter scent and the best thing I've ever smelled. It has made me a fiercely loyal Estee Lauder customer.

Much to my chagrin, summer in Texas is not exactly Youth Dew-friendly weather. So, I headed straight to the EL counter for Private Collection. Lovely! It is the perfect summer fragrance. While Youth Dew is all warm, spicy, powdery oriental, Private Collection is all cool, green, ennervating chypre.

I came to appreciate perfume only a few years ago (in my mid-thirties), so this is the first chypre I've ever owned and worn. I love the way it changes throughout the day and constantly suprises me.

As with all EL fragrances, it has excellent lasting power and just enough sillage to tantalize others around you without offending or overwhelming them. Highly recommended!"

"If you read all my reviews you will see that I am an Estee fanatic. I do like 3 other cologne's better than this one but it is one of the few in my collection. I use this one on ocassion but prefer some of the others for everyday. If you go to Macy's please go by the cosmetic counter and find a bottle of Estee Lauder cologne for yourself, you will be glad you did. Although I love the Private collection, i still prefer the Youth Dew and the Azure..., However, It is a 5* cologne..."

"Private Collections is my signature fragrance.
I have wore it for decades. I have tried many others, gorgio, channel, etc. that cost more. But I always come back to Private collection. It is such a special smell that is both alluring and refreshing. I have gotten many compliments on the perfum. Gentlemen often refer to the smell of this fragrance as LETHAL!!! I agree. "I ordered this for a dear friend of mine, whose husband is quite ill, she will be thrilled to get it I know because it is one of my very favorite scents. The value is equally great. Anyone who desires to be noticed when you walk by someone else, for smelling so good, I recommend you purcahse this cologne. "This was one of my mothers favorite fragrances that she started wearing in the 70's. I remember going with my father to pick out the gift set for her for Christmas. I love this scent. It reminds me of the 70's woman; excited for the promise of the women's movement. Its feminine confident and glamorous without being cloying. I think it is a complex fragrance that I would call green/herbal/citrusy more then floral. It is very "70's" It falls into the same category as Charlie, Pheromone, and even Clinique's Aromatics Elixir (but not nearly as strong as AE). I usually treat myself to a bottle every few years when the holiday blockbuster is available and I always get compliments when I wear it."

"I have worn this fragrance, both lotion and perfume, since 1979 and I am VERY saddened that the lotion is no longer available. This scent is wonderful and has become my signature scent with my entire family. I have not been able to find anything else like it and as I mentioned am extremely upset that it has been discontinued. I have been a very loyal customer of Estee' Lauder and now I am not sure where to find a new fragrance...nothing else in this line is anything at all like this."

"I have been wearing Private Collection since it came on the market and feel naked without it. And three out of my four daughters are devottees, as well.
A firm believer in a signature scent for each woman, I tried many other scents before falling in love with Private Collection. (Note: when one wears the same scent all the time, one can't smell it on oneself- so don't over spray!)
Sadly, except fpr the lotion and cologne, the other products (like soap and powder, are no longer available."

"I discovered this scent around 15 years ago and have continued buying it ever since. It smells very good and you only need a little bit as it will last all day. When I was dating, guys always liked it on me (I'm married now and he likes it too :) ). It is strong if you use too much so really, just a spray or two max is perfect. Very feminine and florally smelling and strangers have come up to me as other reviewers have stated, asking me what I am wearing and saying that they like it. I like getting the lotion with it in the special boxed sets that they usually have around various holidays as the scent will last even longer and it really feels very indulgent!"
