"A true coffee afficionado here. I LOVE this coffee maker. One feature I really like is the ability to adjust carafe temperature (3 temps); previous brands I've owned just didn't keep the coffee hot enough. Adjustable time for auto shutoff also a great feature. After 5+ years, my unit still looks like new."

Bad design - look in person before you buy!

"Before you buy this one, check out the water reservoir indicator. This was a no-go for me; returned it as soon as I saw and read that the only way to really know how much water is going into the reservoir is to measure it by the carafe. There's no outside indicator for how many cups of water are there; just a "ladder" indicator INSIDE the reservoir that is practically impossible to see unless you're putting more than 10 cups in. I use filtered water due to the quality of my tap water. I refuse to pour my filtered water from a pitcher into the carafe then into the reservoir."

"we bought this Cuisinart about 7 years ago and except for occasional vacations it has made at least 1 pot a day, everyday! Makes a great cup of coffee and carafe temp setting allows for really hot coffee. I am buying another today to keep in the closet since I know eventually this one will go kaput and I really don't want any other coffee maker."

"Purchased Cuisinart just about 2 years ago. Brew coffee 4-5 times a week. Completely died this week. Tried all forms of coffee pot resuscitation but sadly the coffee pot coroner had to come. Machine had made a decent cup of coffee but it was a pain to clean thoroughly after every use because of the excessive condensation. Had to replace cheap basket multiple times in 2 years. Coffee brewed relatively quickly even for 12 cups but if you wanted a hot cup you needed the pot to sit on heating unit for 20-30 min. With a 12 cup pot, brew and use microwave for 12 seconds to get a hot cup."

"Had ours for about ten years and then it started to leak water all over the counter. I was reading the reviews in order to make a decision on buying a new one and I am still undecided. The area on the machine where the option for brewing and the clock and setting are is very hard to see even with glasses on. It did make a good cup of coffee and it lasted quite a long time. I will probably make a trip to Macy's this afternoon to see them up close and personal. Afterall, what American doesn't love his coffee in the morning?"

"I was very happy with this coffee maker until it suddenly stopped working one day. I'm jealous of all of you who have had the same machine for 5-6 years. I must be cursed with coffee makers. In the past I've always bought cheaper ones and they last maybe a couple of years, so I thought I'd pay more for a nicer one this time. Now that it hasn't lasted any longer than the el cheap-o ones, I'm giving serious consideration to what I should buy next. Should I waste the money on another "good" one? I now keep a cheap Mr. Coffee in a kitchen cabinet as a backup for unpleasant surprises such as these (waking up in the morning to find that the coffee hadn't brewed and NOT because I forgot to set it the night before!) Terrible way to start a day! :("

"This is our second coffemaker in 5 years. Our first coffeemaker we were very satisfied with., however there was one feature..it didn't have, a charcoal filter, which our Cuisinart has and we like... also the measurement system and reference to how many cups inside the coffeemaker, opposed to outside. Another feature I like is the automatic cleaning light indicator to let me know when it needs to be cleaned."

"I must have a different machine from all you 5 Star raters. Lasted only a year - and stopped working in the middle of a brew. Never liked how you need to twist the carafe into it's spot, not that easy to use. Coffee brewing was ok. Going back to Krups. Not worth spending the money on this one."
