Love it

June 10, 2013
"I own this and have had it for quite some time. Very easy to put together, people use the book!! Tells you how to use it, and how to put it together!! The only negative comment I have about this product is, when you are using the grater the last part of what ever you are grating, slide under the blade!! Other then that...I LOVE IT!!"

Believe the Negative Reviews!!!! They are all true!

January 21, 2013
"I read all the negative reviews. A part of me did not want to believe that Kitchen Aide would produce such a shoddy appliance. I really liked the idea of controlling the slicing thickness with an outside lever. With that said I purchased it. Everything said in the "negative" reviews is true and then some. The pieces do not seem to fit together. It rattles when it slices and the cup seal is not secure. Nothing seems to fit right. Very awkward to use. Suffice to say I am packing it up tonight and mailing it back to Macys with my condolences. Going back with Cuisinart. Costs more but worth it. BTW the 1 star is for packing and delivery."

So Surprised by reviews

December 23, 2012
"I knew there were bad reviews out there for KA food processors that had the exact sice system. I was returning another food processor that didn't live up to the expectations. First, I cook almost everything from scratch, EVERYTHING. I have a GF daughter, Diabetic husband, and an infant. Appliances in my house have to work well and efficiently. Due to the poor reviews, we grabbed a bunch of different foods, with a myriad of textures to test this baby out. Everything worked like a dream.
There is a seperate blade for the mini bowl. DON'T CONFUSE THEM! I read the manual and reviews prior to our in house test run. I didn't find any difficulty locking the bowl or the lid. It took a little while to know which part goes where. I don't leave my appliances out, and store them under counter. I have no issues lifting this product, I love the storage bin, and appreciate the large bowl, smaller bowl, and multiple shoots.
For our test run, we sliced, diced, and shredded tomatoes, cutie oranges (not peeled, mind you# in both bowls. We even chopped pecans with the shell on in the larger bowl. #Again, I was testing this product to see if it would do things I would NEVER make it do.) We grated soft and hard cheeses. In all of that, we never had a problem. There is a bit of a trick to locking the inner bowl in the big one. Finally got it figured out, and no leaking into the large bowl as others have suggested.
I didn't encounter any issues. Of course, time will tell, and I will come back and write another review later. As of now, I think the need for me to slice multiple vegetables for my Husband's daily salads, combined with the outer thickness adjustment, makes this the EXACT food processor I was looking for."

Do Not Buy This!

October 8, 2012
"I have used Kitchenaid small appliances for the last 30 years and have loved them. We bought our daughter all Kitchenaid small appliances over the years so when our son wanted a food processor, of course we bought him a Kitchenaid kFP 1333 ACS Architect 13 cup food processor expecting great things. We were greatly disappointed!
It does such a bad job that you can't even use it. The food does not get processed, it just gets mangled. Chunks of food fall through the holes in the shredding blades so you have a mashed mess with large chunks of food that have to be removed and chopped by hand. It is hard to put together and doesn't stay together during operation. The bowl keeps coming off and the top is so hard to get on and off that I was ready to throw the entire machine in the trash before I got it off (so I could process the chunks by hand).
If you really need a food processor DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!"

REALLY wanted to like this

September 29, 2012
"My experience with kitchenaid products has been excellent. I own the stand mixer, 7 cup food processor, knives, etc. So when I researched food processors to buy a larger machine it was very hard to believe that the bad reviews were not exaggerated. So I bought it, set it up, and started mentally checking off almost every problem mentioned in previous reviews:
- Flimsy bowl lock- I had to hold the bowl in place to take the lid off or the whole bowl would turn.
-Flimsy bowl compared to power of motor- whole thing shakes when processing.
-Difficult to lock lid- I did not try adding oil as another reviewer did to make it slide easier. However my problem was not just the difficulty sliding the lid, I had to push down very hard just to get the lid to touch the bowl when the small bowl was in place. I checked proper placement several times to make sure I had things on right.
- The only dish I made in this FP was hummus, so you can imagine my surprise when the machine made a horrible grinding sound. I turned it off, took it apart and found the plastic part of the blade was digging into the attachment underneath it.
-I got the feeling while assembling the bowl with different blades or taking the lid off that the parts are not made to fit like they should be (with my 7 cup everything fits like a glove). Unfortunately the powerful motor ends up being a problem due to the construction of the other components.
-There are two positives I can say about this machine: it's visually pleasing/very sleek, and I thought the accessories box was a fabulous idea.
It's really too bad, this could have been an amazing FP to keep for a long time (I've had my 7 cup for years). It just doesn't seem to have the sturdy, thoughtful workmanship obvious in my other kitchenaid products.
So in summary, do yourself a favor and don't buy this unless kitchenaid comes out with a 'fixed all the stuff we did wrong' version. I exchanged this for the 11 cup cuisinart, haven't used it yet but it does have great reviews so I am hopeful."

Only Ok

August 22, 2012
"It is a huge product so make sure you have the space for it, and it comes with a second huge storage container for the attachments.
It is not easy to use, the pieces do not fit together well. It also takes a while to clean or it takes up the entire top shelf of the dishwasher.
I have never owned a food processor before, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I would probably try a different one next time."

Tried 2 of them, blade having trouble spinning for just garbanzo beans, thought the first one was just the factory defect, the second one still the same end up returning it.

Don't Buy!

"This machine couldn't possibly have been designed by a cook! The configuration of bowls & attachments isn't easy to figure out/assemble and it's features are very limited. Too big a hassle for the end result!"

disappointing and returned

June 28, 2012
"I bought this based on product name recognition and the machine's large capacity. The attachment case was great, a very handy way to store all of the accessories. I liked the multiple slot sizes for inserting food. It was big, but that's why I chose it.
The problem with the machine was within three weeks (roughly 10-20 uses) the slicing adaptor used with the large bowl stuck on the center axis and would not come off, rendering the large bowl useless. I was able to use the smaller bowl and all of it's attachments, but this was not why I bought a large capacity food processor...UGGG. The Kitchenaid support center's "help" line was useless. I returned the processor.

space grabber

April 10, 2012
"I REALLY wanted this after watching the ads on tv. I had no idea how large the footprint would be...and the attachments come in a large plastic box (wonderful for organization), that takes up as much space again as the appliance.
Not sure it is worth all of the space that it takes in my kitchen.

So far so good!

February 27, 2012
"I purchased this Kitchen Aid food processor because of the brand reputation and the reliability I have had using my other Kitchen Aid products. I have used this for pastry dough, chopping many vegetables, slicing potatoes using the thickness adjuster and grated cheese, both hard and soft. It was very efficient and didn't take a lot of time to get the job done. It doesn't take long to clean, I just fill the sink with hot soapy water and the parts pretty much clean themselves! So far so good, looking forward to many years of cooking with this product."

"It was hard for me to put the blade attachements and bowl together. The second time I was going to use it to puree something the thing broke it wouldn't start again. Plus its big and heavy so it was hard to find somewhere to store it. I returned it glad to get my money back!"

Don't waste your money on this!

December 28, 2011
"What a waste of $. It's nearly the size of a mini fridge, bulky hard to move. Doesn't chop well. You have to pay additional money to get attachments that already comes with other name brands.I called for assistance at their help number..both times I was told it was so new that they had not seen the product function..No help there.I struggle to get the top off.I find it hard to wash and hard to remove the blade. Older folks were not in mind when making this product. I suggest you buy another product. I wish that I had."

So Far So Good

December 28, 2011
"I purchased this product about a month ago, used it several times and have not had any problems with it so far. The lid is a little testy to get into place, but as long as it keeps the liquids in I am ok with it. I like it's large capacity and it is fairly easy to clean up."

Extremely unreliable food processor.

December 21, 2011
"The multi-purpose blade broke the first time I used the food processor (blending dried dates). The store immediately replaced the product without any hassle. After only a month using the appliance, the multi-purpose blade has again failed (this time blending nuts). The mini-blade with mini-bowl addition has never been a problem, however I didn't buy this food processor for only half its capability. The primary blade is awfully weak; and for a higher-end Kitchenaid food processor to fail twice within a month is simply unacceptable. I cannot recommend this food processor."

Poorly engineered

December 16, 2011
"This is extremely poor in its design, which disappoints me being a KitchenAid product. I was thrilled to receive this however the first time I used it the plastic piece that holds the blade in the bowl broke. I thought that it was a faulty part and exchanged it for a second blade. The second time I used it (to make mango avocado salsa might I add) it broke again after just turning it on. Back to the drawing board KitchenAid!"
