"i use these strictly as decor, even though i know they can be used as serveware. as decor, i find them nice in combined colors (we have the long, narrow one in red & the lime green nut bowls on the coffee table) -- casual, versatile, and low-maintenance. i replaced a japanese lacquer tray on my coffee table with these, and the previous tray was a dust magnet, while these don't seem to attract much dust at all."

"I have been using the nut bowls and smaller salad bowl quite a bit over the couple of months and have had no issues with peeling. I have mostly used them with liquid based items and salad. I love them, as do my girlfriends. I'm looking forward to getting the rest of the set. I would highly recommend these!"

"The inside of all these bowls peels off and looks cheap. They have a cool look to them, until you wash them or put something moist in the bowl, then the sides just peel and wrinkle off. I do not recommend this at all. Unless it's just for show"

"I recieved the large Salad Bowl in the Lemongrass color for a wedding gift. We ended up buying the matching nut bowls, serving set, and oblong platter as well. They didin't have the bottle stoppers available in the lemongrass color, I thought i could probably find it online somewhere else, but apparently not. If you are going to purchase this set, I would reccommend any of the other colors (if you want the complete matching set)....and at that, I would reccommend the brown because Macy's has all of the available items in that color (and other stores carry other pieces that macy's dosen't have, but only in the brown--like the serving tray, other bowls, etc.). I haven't used them yet, just have them stored in a display cabinet, so not sure if they stand up to the dishwasher, etc. Sure are pretty though."
