Just the Best Evening Gown Ever

"I love this evening gown! I was worried that I would not be able to find a Mother of the Bride dress that flattered my 67 yr old, 138 lb , 5" 3-3/4" body (size 14), yet looked gorgeous; this dress is perfect! And so wearable! The Lapis is a beautiful color (deep blue w/ hint of purple), and makes me look like a million bucks! The material feels so luxurious and elegant next to my skin, and I adore the feel against my legs when I walk! I needed some alteration, which I was more than happy to do for such a perfect dress! The shoulder straps had to be shortened; the sleeve length shortened;, and the dress length shortened. I looked at many before making my decision, and I am so happy I did not settle for less. My experience shopping at Macy's on line has been excellent."

Thrilled with this dress; Petite 65 Yr Old Mother Of The Bride

"I have tried on and scanned the internet for THE dress for months and when i saw this online I loved it right off but thought it to be more for straight figured ladies (thought I may look - again!--like a stuffed sausage in it as I did with other dresses). I am 65 yrs old, 5'2" and let's say I'm fairly round shaped 190 lbs and obviously short. The size 16 is the one size they had in this dress at my local macys and it fit me perfectly! My daughter #the bride# grabbed it off that rack abd when i saw it in the dressing room, was THRILLED that it fit so very well b/c i usually have to try on a petite wide...the 16 in this case is a "regular womans" size, but if you note the length it is 48 inches not the usualy 51 or 53 in length as on other dresses, and the sleeve length of 23 came to my wrist bone--perfectly ok! Even though I'm a private person, i'm giving this body type description here b/c when i read other reviews, that's what i was looking for to help me know whether to try ordering it. I am walking my daughter down the isle in September and wanted something simple, elegant and with a jacket but not too hot; it's an outdoor september wedding with reception inside; therefore, did not want anything too warm in a jacket--the jacket is very light and see through. This dress feels elegant and moves beautifully when you walk and i LOVE the beaded jewels and their colors. The bridemaids are wearing peacock color which is a blue/green; I dont' want to match them and not clash either--my daughter was with me when i purchased the dress and she liked the color which isn't really a navy but like navy with a purple twist--lapis. This dress will not have to be altered; it is form fitting and stretchy on the top, back, waist but the pleated cover keeps lumps and bumps out of view #I don't want to wear a body shaper or girdle and spent all my time in the ladies room adjusting things instead of enjoying the day# and the length is going to be just fine with a short pair of heels and the sleeves are perfect. I like it sort of hitting the ground a bit as i walk which looks more ceremonial for going down the aisle with my daughter; it definately just hits the floor and then a teeny bit more withOUT shoes on. I can play with the shoe issue to adjust how it hits the floor i think; i don't see that it will need altering. I'm thrilled with the purchase and to finally have found the right dress for me!"

"I had difficulty finding a dress to fit since I had recently gained weight. This dress was the perfect solution-- a good color for me, an easy fit for almost any body type, great price, and style besides.

With the light jacket that's included, the synthetic fabric was warm for a summer wedding ceremony on the beach, but perfect for an air-conditioned reception. It allows easy movement with comfort. The dress received several compliments.

You'll need your own foundation garment to fit without showing under the bodice and straps since nothing except a lining is built into the gown. It's an easy dress to accessorize for a very fancy occasion, and it has understated elegance for occasions such as weddings. I'd wear it spring, summer, or fall."

"Gave it to my sister as a gift to wear to our nephew's wedding. After looking at several dresses that were the color of the wedding party, we hoped this would be a match. My sister loves the fit so much, the bride was willing to accept she wear the dress even though it is not an exact match. It is comfortable and loose enough not to highlight imperfections, yet elegant enough that my toddler daughter told my sister she looks like a princess ready for the ball with it on."

"I was looking for a dress that was somewhat modest as I am 62 yrs old and don't like a lot of skin showing. Dress would also work for someone younger, as the jacket is removable. "Feels" luxurious to be wearing it. I am 5'8". Sleeves on the jacket come to my wrists.-not too short. Hem length good, too. Dress should be suitable to many occasions."

"I ordered this for an evening wedding for my nephew in September. I am a size ten or twelve depending on the dress. I ordered the ten and it fits perfect. The color and beading are beautiful. Conservative compared to some I tried, yet elegant and moves with style. I like that it's not too long (I'm 5'7") and my silver sandles show nicely. The color is very in now."
