"this container holds a 5 pound bag of flour, but you have to allow the flour to settle. The dimensions are also similiar to a 5lb flour bag."

"I'm with the other reviewers that say 5 pounds is a stretch. In order to get 5 pounds (-1 cup that I used) in, I had to pack it down. The measuring cup technically fit but I'm certain it will make a mess when I remove it from the overfilled canister. It really should have been a bit larger. That said, I love the gasket and snap locks. I trust my cabinet storage will no longer be alluring the panty pests!

One last note, the measuring cup doesn't have markings. It's a small detail but one that would go a long way!"

"We bought these to hold our flour and sugar and they work like a dream. I can easily fit my 5lb bags into these and I love the measuring cup that came with. A great item and we have run them through our dishwasher...no problems there! Now I just need the smaller one for our brown sugar!"

"I got two of these as a gift. I saw the review on here about a 5lb bag not fitting the 5lb container and panicked :) I decided to give it a shot though, and I'm glad I did! My 5lb flour bag fit into the 5lb canister with enough room for the measuring cup, too. Flour can fluff if you pour it out too quickly, but I think as long as you pour it slowly into the canister it will all fit. I used the other canister to hold a 5lb sugar bag, which also fit just fine. These canisters are sturdy and sleek, and I love keeping the measuring cup in the canister. Now I don't have to wash measuring cups each time I bake."

"I was so excited to get these containers and organize my pantry. I bought this container to hold flour. The only problem is that the bag of flour that I had did not fit in this container. It was specifically labeled for a 5lb bag of flour, but when I dumped my flour into the container, it totally overflowed. The same thing happened with the smaller container labeled for a 4lb bag of sugar. The sugar filled it right up to the brim and there was no room for the scoop. Other than that, the lids fit very well and seem to be very secure. The plastic is very thick and seems to be good quality. I am very happy with these containers, other than the fact that they don't totally solve my organization problem. I will keep these out on my countertop, but I will always have half a bag of flour or sugar still in the pantry. I really wish that I could have eliminated the bag all together."

"I just got my Martha Stewart 110 oz container and love it. Instead of having my flour sit in it's bag this container keeps it fresh and my pantry looks very organized. You can never go wrong with a Martha Stewart product."
