"I ordered my first 12 piece set on line, loved it and then ordered a second set. The second set had two broken plates, and the finish on at least half of the other pieces had problems - a little bubble in the glaze, or tiny black particles under the glaze which really stood out on the white. I was able to go to the store and exchange them. But even there I noticed they had many with blemishes. On sale, this dinnerware is not cheap, and my expectation is for perfect pieces! I also was going to purchase salt and pepper shakers, but noticed that the holes weren't centered on the pieces. So be careful of the quality of pieces that you buy.

I love the oversized plates, but as others have said, make sure it will fit in your cabinet - mine barely make it. And also check your dishwasher. I have to put mine on the left side of the dishwasher where there is more room, and then tilt them over. And I can only fit 4-5 on the left side..."

"I love these dishes! The Hotel Collection is not only beautiful and elegant, but very durable. I was concerned that they would not handle the rigors of everyday use, but my fears were unfounded. They have performed very well.

I was initally a little irritated that the boxed sets that I purchased did not include coffee cups, until I realized that there were four different types of coffee cups available in the Hotel Collection and that I could choose exactly what I wanted. I absolutely love the latte mugs and espresso cups that I selected. What a pleasant surprise!

This collection is timeless because it offers such a wide selection of different pieces in a variety sizes and shapes. This is unique and makes this collection extremely versatile. I have many different sized bowls and use them constantly. The smaller bowls (berry bowls and dip bowls) take up almost no room in the cupboard and they are used constantly. They are the perfect size for snacks and are always used during meal preparation to hold spices, cut up vegetables, etc (like the chefs on the food network). I have realized that the size of bowl or plate that I grab determines how much I will eat, and I love being able to have the right sized plates and bowls to maintain my figure.

I'm so glad that we purchased these dishes. Very good quality, Very good value, Very good customer service"

"We originally registered for white Vera Wang china, but my husband didn't like the pattern, so we got these instead and they have been very durable and look new each time I take them out of the dishwasher. Would recommend the larger mugs for people who want coffee, as the cups with saucers are smaller. Also would recommend the oval serving platters as they are very timeless. Also, just a note, but the teacup saucers do not stack well at all. Overall, I love the set and they are so neutral they can be mixed with fine china and used for fancy dinners. Whatever you choose!"

"I love these dishes. I bought two of these sets to get me started. I was very happy with the configuration without extra mugs! The dinner plate is large, almost didn't fit in my cupboard, so I recommend you measure before purchasing. The large size makes your food look pretty. We actually use the salad plate for most meals but I love having the option of a larger plate. I've had them several weeks now with no chipping and we're not easy on our dishes with teens in the house. I even dropped a bowl in the sink and banged it pretty hard. I thought forsure it would break, chip or crack and it was fine! They come out of the dishwasher beautifully and go in the microwave nicely. We use them for everyday but they are pretty enough to use for entertaining. I find the color to be a soft white, not a bright clean white, I love it. The thickness is perfect, not a fine china but you can still see light through them, so they are not heavy like restaurant ware would be, yet not so fragile you have to baby them. Feels and looks like quality on your table. My local store didn't carry them, so I had to order online and they came quickly, packaged nicely and not one flaw."

"I had been checking out this set for a long time. I was in need of a new every day set of dishes and wanted plain white. The Sales Associate at the Roseville Galleria store is very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the products they carry. She told me these were almost indestructable. I live with my husband and our two young adult sons so that appealed to me. I bought the 12 piece set as a trial. The guys like it because it is BIG. I like the feel and the look. The color is classy and clean, not cold. It goes with everything. They are also very durable and wash up nicely in the dishwasher. Very shiny. I am going to buy a complete 8 place setting and a few accessories. On another note, I love BIG coffee cups so I really like the mugs."

"I am so in love with this china set! We got these as wedding gifts and are so excited about them. It didn't make sense for us to register for separate casual and fine china sets, so we decided to compromise and just get the Hotel Collection china. It's aboslutely pefect. Easy and simple enough to use every day, but classy enough to dress up for more formal occasions, this china set can seriously pull double duty!
The cereal bowls are my favorite. They're a nice comfortable shape that's easy to hold and are just the right size for breakfast or soup. Like others have said, the dinner plates are a little large, so just make sure that your cabinets can accomodate them before purchasing. The pieces are very sleek and stack nicely. The color is a wonderful warm shade of white. I would definitely recommend this set!"

"These dishes are nice but I would never pay retail for them, on sale only. I actually ordered them online sight unseen: 2 sets of the 12 piece set, 8 mugs, the berry bowls, and soup bowls and only one broken plate in the whole shipment! Yes it was crazy to have something so breakable delivered but I live in Vancouver, Canada and couldn't make it down to the Seattle Macy's before the sale ended so I had them shipped to a friend's address in Washington state.

The 11 inch dinner plates are awesome.

The salad plates are larger than I expected but that's fine as they are more versatile.

The bowls that come with the set are a bit bigger than I expected but I had cereal in one of them this morning and the bowl was perfect. The sides of the bowls are slightly higher than my previous set so that will take a little bit of getting used to.

I bought the berry bowls because past reviewers talked about how useful they were and how much they loved them. I don't know about you guys but if I'm going to have a small bowl of berries or yogurt or whatever, I'd want to have a good 1 to 1 1/2 cups worth. These bowls are too small and I don't think I'll get a lot of use out of them - I might use them for dipping sauce. I'm 120 pounds and I dont think these bowls are really that suitable for a serving of yogurt unless you only want a few spoonfuls.

What I recommend instead, are the breakfast bowls. They are a great size and wish I bought them instead. The cereal bowls that come with the set are on the larger side, the berry bowls are really on the very small side, but these breakfast bowls are a perfect size for yogurt with granola, hot oatmeal, a small bowl of chili, whatever. I will definitely have to add these to my collection during the next sale!

The latte mugs are MUCH larger than what the photo shows and when you pick up the mug in your hand, the handle is really big and awkward. The cup is very tall and extremely bottom heavy -- not light and delicate light the other dishes. Holding one reminded me of holding a beer mug - yes that is how big they are! I returned all of them and bought the cups with saucers instead and I highly recommend those instead. The size is more like a large cappuccino cup. I measured the volume of them with one of my old coffee cups, which are a good average size, by pouring water from it into these cups and it holds slightly less liquid but overall, not enough of a difference to be concerned about using them for tea and coffee. (We have an espresso machine so these will be great for cappuccinos).

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and love how the plates stack up in a compact pile in my glass cupboard (my stoneware plates were chunking and took up more room). The cereal bowls don't stack in a compact manner so be prepared for those taking up room in the cupboard especially if you're getting 8 place settings like I did (you'll need to stack them in two piles of four)."

"we looked everywhere for everyday china that still could hold up to being dressed up for special occasions. enter Hotel Collection! it is super modern and sleek, yet has that timeless quality so I don't feel it will go out of style any time soon. we received 6 sets of this china with our registry, and I am going to buy this 12 piece set today to make it complete! The coffee cups are amazing, though not in this set, but I don't need a million of them anyway. This is such a great price also."

"After much deliberation, my husband and I registered for the Hotel Collection Dinnerware, Bone China for our wedding. We've had this china for about 3 months now and we're so happy with it! The clean white is perfect for people like us who aren't sure what color theme we'll still like 10 years from now. Like the other reviewers, we're using these every day--I'm not crazy enough to "crash test" any of the plates, but they hold up perfectly through our not-so-careful hand-washing and stacking. They look gorgeous on the shelf and on the table. For the price, it's a great value--you'll use all the time, not just once a year on special occasions. I highly recommend this china!"
