Awesome Splurge

May 2, 2013
"This Cuisinart food processor is solid, attractive, and both my husband and I were shocked how really quiet it is. Was a little concerned with pressing on lid when watched videos as I have arthritis/carpal tunnel - but it takes very little pressure and did not bother my hands/wrists. Sliced potatoes last night - was not sure thickness number to set so used the 1mm (smallest). Was no effort to machine - hummed right through. Ended up with thinness for potato chips. Looking forward to trying out all sorts of new items. A food processor (not Cuisinart) that I got for my wedding 25 years ago spent majority of time in basement. This model is staying on the counter!"

Waited for this

March 22, 2013
"I love this processor. I do lots of cooking and canning, including pickles. This processor slices quick and it's so quiet I hardly hear it slice. I sliced up some peppers on day one and they were sliced in 2 seconds. Incredibly fast! I can't wait to do more with it. I love that it came with the accessory case. I love that I can adjust the slicing blade to many different thicknesses. Í have cleared a spot on my counter to keep it at so that it will be easy access to use. It is heavy so I will find a placemat to put it on so that it will slide out from under the cabinet easier when I want to use it. The smaller bowl will come in handy for when I make my homemade tartar sauce and pesto. My old food processor finally broke after 20 years of use and I am getting ready for garden season so this is a much needed appliance in my kitchen. From what I can tell it should last me for the next 20 years."

My future cuisenart

November 26, 2010
"I have been using cuisenart for almost 20 years. There is nothing else better. It's got more power than any other food processor on the market and it choppes, blades, mixes and blends in no time. No other machine needed. Mine just died, after 20 years I will be replacing it with the new cast Iron 14 cups and I will get an extra 11 cup bowl. I love it and give it *****."

Cook's Best Friend!

June 12, 2010
"I absolutely love it! The instructional DVD made learning the food processor very easy! It shows the different ways this machine can be used to make light work of even the most in-depth meals and turns the process into such an enjoyable experience. The 3 different work bowls are great for multiple ingredients with different amounts. There are several recipes included with the Cuisinart that set a template for any cooks creative side! I find myself looking for very complex meals just so I can use my Cuisinart!"

Love it

January 22, 2010
"This is my first food processor so I did a lot of research before buying one since they can be quite costly. I picked this one because of the versatility and size. I cook for anywhere from 2 to 6 people on a regular basis so a processor that can handle 14 cups was very attractive.
I have had this processor since just before Thanksgiving 2009. It works like a dream and makes cooking a lot easier and healthier since I can now use fresh products to cook with and not pre-packaged foods. (once I learned how to actually use it properly) I recommend watching the DVD that comes with it...it was very helpful to a newbie like me. Shredding my own cheese has got to be my favorite thing to do.
I do agree with the previous review about the cleaning issues. I wash my parts in the dishwasher (top rack only) and do not have any issues. The lid, however, can be a challenge to clean, but if you wash it immediately, you shouldn't have any problems.
I recommend you plan on keeping this processor out on your counter since it is pretty heavy and not very easy to move around...the good news is, it looks great! Like art for your kitchen counter."

Great machine, Questionable cookbook

January 19, 2010
"So far I am really loving my new food processor with one exception: the cookbook.
I figured that to learn how to use it, I would make a few of the recipes from the included recipe book. The Potatoes Gratin was amazing and turned out beautifully. The Chocolate Chip Crumb Cake was a disaster of large proportion. There is no way that this recipe is correct - at least for the crumb topping, anyway.
Additionally, while it sayd that it can be machine washed, I've chosen to hand-wash. Most of it is very easy to clean, but the sealed lid poses some difficulty - you really can't clean above the lip of the seal, and there's no way to dry it either. Hopefully it willl air dry well each time.
