I LOVE cuisinart

March 24, 2013
"I'm a huge cuisinart fan. I have to have everything cuisinart, pots, pans, knives, small food processors, big pocessors, grill, cookie cutter, etc. Everything. I always wanted a food processor just like my mom. I love the capacity of this one but the negatives out weight the advise to buy one. The food will get stuck in the oddest of places. They should have filled in more of the gaps in this machine. You have to get toothpicks to get the food out of all the crevices. Also, the food will get stuck in the lid above the suction area. It's so hard to explain. But the small scrapes and food will get stuck everywhere.. it's so sad. So common sense, I expected better out of Cuisinart. It's not like I can return it.. I've had it for MONTHS now. :( So disappointed."

LOVE IT!

July 7, 2011
"Years ago my first food processor was a Cuisinart, it made food prep a snap..I even made my own baby food....then about 8 yrs ago, I needed a new processor and I decided to try Kitchen Aid. Over the following years I had to have parts replaced and continued to have trouble..never should have left Cuisinart. After purchasing a new Cuisinart Elite 14-cup last month, I couldn't be happier. LOVE the multiple bowls...it is a solid well-contructed machine..it works like a charm. And after having a food processor for 30 yrs, I learned things from watching the included DVD. I'm thrilled with my new machine."

Fabulous Food Processor

January 12, 2011
"I waited a long time for this machine and now I can't believe I lived without it. The nesting bowl set-up is my favorite. They come in and out easy and make quick work of just about anything you want to do. The retractable chord actually works and is a nice feature. The pulse button helps you control the quality of the chop. I haven't used the cheese shredder yet but if it works like the slicer you are all set. The DVD gave great instructions and is worth the time it takes to watch it."

"I am so happy with this food processor. It looks beautiful on my counter next to my Kitchen Aid mixer and fits perfect under my cupboards. The nesting bowls are a great design and I have found the shredding to be wonderful.
I will agree that the retractable cord doesn't always retract but that's if I have the machine tuned at an angle - my vacuum does the same thing.
I researched many food processors before getting this one (my mom surprised me with it) and found it to be the best choice out there. Homemade soups are a snap! Dips, ham salad, cookie batter . . . made easy! Clean up is not too bad either. Just be careful with the blades - they are sharp!
My son is 12 and he loves to use it too.
Bon Apetite!!

Sloppy manufacturing

April 4, 2010
"I wanted to upgrade my kitchen arsenal with a new FP-14. Had an old Cuisinart 8-cup unit, which worked fine but wanted larger capacity and mulitcontainer versatility. Another reason for replacing the old unit was increased risk of cutting myself. The blades have become difficult press onto the stem and to remove, requiring force that could easily result in a nasty cut if one got careless, something that still puzzles me and a design that is still on the new models.
In any case, the new FP-14 was packed well and had good instructions. That's the nice part.
Problem 1: The nested containers are tricky to detach. One has to watch interlocking alignment very carefully and even then they are sometimes difficult to separate.
Problem 2: The unit could not handle a 9 cup rich flour dough in one load. It would quickly overheat and stop. I had to break the load into three parts, the same amount that the old machine could handle. So much for the 1000 W power on the new unit? That's almost 1-1/2 horsepower!
Problem 3: The shredder did sloppy work on carrots. Large chunks would fall over the side of the disk into the shredded bottom, making it a pain to weed out the large chunks.
Problem 4: The unit could not smooth blend a 3-pound load of farmers cheese via rapid pulsing. It seemed to have overheated and cut off, even though the housing was not warm to the touch.
Problem 5: The retractable cord had to be manually pushed into the housing. Maybe they designed it not to retract by itself.
Problem 6: The lid kept popping up when the unit was kneading a 6-cup flour load, something that even my old unit handles well. I had to physically hold the lid down to finish the job.
Problem 7: Had to run a scouting mission to see the shortest route to return the such a heavy unit to the store.
Maybe I got a lemon to begin with but I did expect a powerful convenient performance for $300 and did not get it."

Big enough for big jobs, small enough for small

October 31, 2009
"I thought it would be too big and heavy to leave on the counter because I don't like anything on my counters, even the toaster! It sits on the counter with the bowls on top and I just slide it out to use. I was leary about the nesting bowls, but it's a great design. I slide it out to where I want to use it, chop nuts in the top bowl, then in the 11 cup bowl mix banana bread with the dough blade, then pour the nuts in and I'm done. The bowls pull out easily to clean, dry and reassemble. I thought it would be too much work to pull out to do small jobs, but it's not, it's exactly what I wanted, I'm so happy. The retractable cord is huge to me, I don't have to fuss with winding up a cord before I push it back in the corner, just retract, and push into it's spot on the counter. The locking lid is awsome. Some people didn't like the slanted 4 cup bowl, but I haven't had a problem. It used to be a big deal to mix up a banana bread or a cake, now when fruit is past it's time, I just pull out the cuisinart and whip up a bread, cake or muffins. I wanted this to be easier than pulling out my mixer (which I know, is really easy) but this is just as easy, so I use it all the time. Having 3 bowls, I can mix in the 11 cup bowl, and while I am washing that one, another batch of something else can be mixing in the 14 cup bowl. Another thing, my kitchen is open to my livingroom, when I use a mixer or blender, no one can hear the TV. I turn on the Cuisinart, and they don't even turn up the volume to hear over the motor, very, very quiet and because it mixes so fast, it isn't on for long anyway. The accessory box is super, I don't have to find a drawer to put everything in, and everything is easy to find. I think the adjustable slicer blade is genius too. I have been making stir fry and salads with fresh vegies in minutes, I used to sit at the table for an hour cutting everything up, I'm back into cooking! Love, love, love it!"
