Tea Brewing Epiphany

"I was so surprised that tea brewing is like a form of science. Like the rest of us, I never realized that different temperatures of hot water can "make or break" the taste of a brewed tea. The Breville Tea Kettle does all the work from timing and boiling of the water. I poured my first cup of green tea and never realized how great it tasted because the temperature of the water was correct for that type of tea. I used to always burn my pots because I would forget to turn it off when boiling water for tea. So now it puts my mind at ease because of the automatic shut off timer on the Breville. I have told all my friends about this awesome product. Thanks Breville!"

Awesome Kettle

"I was eying this kettle for a while, I'm a student in college and I like to spend my money where I know it'll last. Purchasing this kettle has made my life easier. I now can focus on other thing without constantly looking at the stove for the water to boil over. Because of the stainless steel exterior, it looks beautiful on my counter-top. However it can lead to fingerprints and water stains if you tend to forget to wipe it down on occasion.

I have been increasingly interested in the art of tea - this has made my teas taste great without burning my tongue. My bf and I have different heat tolerance on consumption of hot water so this made us both very pleased. Definitely a great buy."

"I have always had a great love of tea. I recently started brewing whole leaf teas and spend a lot of time (and $$) at Teavana. This is the PERFECT tea kettle. It is quick, easy to use, and looks great on the counter. I love being able to select the temperature just right for the tea I am brewing. There is a hold feature that is also great. When the water is at the right temperature you get a beep that is not jarring...something tea lovers probably appreciate. My tweeners also love it for making their instant cocoa and oatmeal. I prefer it for them because it cuts down on using the microwave - which I really don't like them using so much. I would purchase again. Also think I have found a new favorite brand in Breville. It feels like quality."

"I was hesitant but I got this when Macy's had another good sale. I love the tea kettle for my tea as it makes the right tempature for the different kinds of tea. It is faster than a microwave (which I am trying to stay away from) Worth every penny I spent on it."

"I have been used to a one temperature tea kettle and didn't know what I was missing. This kettle is wonderful. I love tea and now I can't have it anywhere but at home because this kettle makes tea taste so good. It comes with a guide of how hot to brew your tea/coffee for optimal taste, and they're right on. Never again will I sip my tea and scald my mouth because even at 212 degrees F, black tea gets brewed but isn't hot enough to inflict pain. I highly suggest this product for people who drink tea frequently, especially loose teas. You'll finally taste tea as it was meant to be. Pure tea-light."

"My husband and I enjoy different types of tea and coffee. We needed a kettle with temperature control to brew white and oolong teas without scorching the leaves. The Breville Kettle offers five temperature options, heats water quickly and looks nice on the counter. It is also is great for heating water for our french press. Definitely worth the money!"

"Breville tea kettles are great. This is my second; the first being the Breville Ikon tea kettle (Although the unit still boils water perfectly, a crack appeared on the piece covering the heating element--prompting me to look for a replacement).

The Breville Variable Tempertature tea kettle is wonderful, featuring water that quickly heats to the right temperature, and 2 windows for easy water viewing.

I am able to hold and pour from both tea kettles without difficulty. A person who likes a good grip might feel better with the Ikon's handle which is less slippery than the Variable Temperature handle.

Definitely, worthwhile purchases from Macy's."

"This is the perfect gift for a tea afficianado. The variable temperature feature ensures that more delicate tea leaves (white, green, etc.) are not scalded during the brewing process.

The only drawback I found was that the lid release intermittently failed to work thus necessitating me having to pry open the top. (I returned this defective kettle and am eagerly awaiting a replacement). Otherwise, I found the kettle to be sturdy, aesthetically pleasing and capable of delivering the correct temperature water for various types of tea."
