"The worst vacuum. We got it as a wedding gift less than a year ago and the thing keeps shutting off after 5 minutes! It wont turn on again for another hour. It doesn't pick up dirt well at all. I have to go over our carpet a lot of times before it's remotely clean. Emptying out the canister that the dirt goes into is the messiest process. Dust and debris gets everywhere. I called Hoover about the problem and I'll just say it's a nightmare but Macys pulled through and helped me. 5 for Macys, 0 for Hoover."

"I completely agree with the previous reviewer. Vacuum is heavy. Purchased a couple of months ago and already vacuum automatically shuts off if it gets to hot. Have to take apart and clean it. Or keep reattaching the belts. No longer picks up well. When you clean it do not take a shower first. The dust just flies in the air when emptied. Very messy. Very disappointed. Usually love Macy's. Now I am stuck with this Vacuum that doesn't work:("

"Great Vacuum. Love to watch the dirt go around... It makes vacuuming fun again. It is a joy - not at all heavy. We cannot wait to vacuum again. When you are done, push the button and the chord goes back up. Buy it. Macy's is the best. We looked all around. A great Manhattan Vacuum."

"Very, very powerful vacuum. I used it on "clean carpets" and it picked up what the other vacuum had left behind. Yes, it's very heavy, but it is also very heavy duty. For the price, you can't beat it, but I would not recommend it for anyone with back pain or muscle weakness. I like to use it because it gives me a little bit of a workout (no joke). It has all the usual attachments plus a smaller rotating brush head for upholstery and tight corners and spots. The filter is easy to empty but it should be emptied outside because it is bagless and the dust will float."

I am very unhappy with this purchase,August 26, 2008

"This vaccum cleaner is far too heavy. If you live in a two-story home, as I do, it is extremly awkward and very heavy to move upstairs and back downstairs. When you go to empty the cleaner, it is very messy and dusty. Its a real mess. It does not pick up as well as it should, even when you try the different settings. I am very disappointed with my purchase."
