"I was very disappointed. I bought 3 sets of these dishes for large family gatherings due to the good price and simple styling. But while the bowls and mugs were fine, many of the plates were warped. The other odd thing is that I bought other items in the line so that everything would match and they don’t. They plates were bluish white and the other items in the line were yellowish white. Unfortunately, I had purchased them while they were on sale and didn’t open them for about 3 months so I couldn’t return them. Lesson learned. At least they were cheap and match “well enough”."

"I received these as a gift from my boss at our Christmas swap. At first I was really impressed. After I washed them for the first time in the dishwasher a plate came out chipped. The next morning I made my son some pancakes, as he ate the first batch I put the remaining two on a salad plate. Next thing I knew I heard a pop, the salad plate cracked in half from the heat of the pancakes. A few days later he used another salad plate in the microwave under a pot pie, that plate broke into 4 pieces. They are not microwave and dishwasher safe as the ad claims. The spots in the glaze I could live with but they are not safe for anything hotter than a peanut butter sandwich. Do not waste your money. I'm glad they were a gift."

"I have had 2 sets of these for a year now. I love that they came with so many sizes of plates and bowls. However, as others have mentioned, you will find pieces that are flawed in different ways. I brought about 6 pieces total from my two boxes back to the macy's home store to exchange for unflawed ones. They aren't the highest quality, but I do love these dishes. I plan to buy a 3rd set when they are on sale, so that I have extras and can replace them when my kids (or I) break them by dropping."

"I bought these dishes in the store. They were packaged sufficiently, no breakages. We have been using them for several months, with only 1 dish chipped. They have held up well in the dishwasher, and have no etching or scratch marks.
Color is great. Only complaint is that on one or two of the dishes there are black specks, which seem to be in the clay itself (under the glaze). But overall, they are not noticable to anyone else."

"First of all they are not porcelain they are stoneware. They are mishapen and the glaze is missing in spots on the plates. For the price I have decided to keep them, plus the postage and packing them back up would be a pain. For a starter set they are OK."

"I can use this set for everyday or for special occassions. These has a very simple and plain so you can dress them up or use them as the are. I love finding a great set of white dishes to play with around holidays that don't have fruit or something around the boarder. I only with I had gotten another set as a back up. I am sure I will remember to pick them up on one of my trips. I hope this helps someone who might be afraid of solid white dinnerware. It really is wonderful to add some color in with it to have a great looking table on your special day."

"I bought this set and the extras pieces when they were on sale, but I wouldn't pay full price for it because it does have some flaws. The large dinner plates are all a little different, you can't tell when they are on a table but you notice it when stacked in the cupboard. Also some of the pieces have little black specs on them, which other reviewers mentioned too. Otherwise this is a good set. I am pleased with the weight of the pieces, they are not flimsy. My only complaint is that one of the mugs had a tiny chip in it, but everything else I ordered came perfect, which was very surprising, I expected at least 1 broken piece and there wasn't. Overall this is a good value and looks like it will last for a long time and still remain in style."

"I bought two sets for my mom so she could have service for 12. The creamer cup was chipped in both boxes! I think it is because it is not padded in there enough. I took out each individual dish to inspect it due to the poor reviews, and I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary except for the broken creamer. Maybe this will change with further use. I'm not sure why people are saying they are odd sizes because the sizes are given on the box and on the website to view before purchasing. For the price, I think it's a great deal. The bowls are a little small, but I guess you can just make you two bowls of cereal in the morning."

"I read the reviews from others before I bought these and they were mixed so I bought them for the price. In fact I bought 2 sets. What a disappointment. Chipped, odd shaped, ruff edges, bubbles and black spots on them, to light weight for a mans portion. small sized cups, plates, bowls etc.. They seem very fragil and appear to be easliy chipped or broken. The only piece that I think had any value was the plater. It was heavier but very small. More the size of nice dinner plate. I wouldn't even give this set to one of my sons. They would have them broken in a month. Rats, really like the looks in the ad and price. These are going back."

"I feel grown up now with a full set of matching plates for 8. They have everything you need for a home or apartment. The simple white is elegant enough for dinner party or every day use. The only down side is there were a couple of plates that were not perfect - you could see the defect in the shape of the plates...not even but slightly skewed. Otherwise, for the price..it was great a buy."

"The six settings work well for the two of us. We enjoy the small dipping bowls and use the mugs daily, so much more practical than cups and saucers. The smallest of the three plate sizes is just right for a dinner roll. The deep bowls hold a good-sized salad but take up little shelf space. All of the extras in this set make it a great deal. Our dishes are a lovely white porcelain, no bumps, just one small dark spot at the bottom of one of the bowls. I'd definitely consider giving these dishes as a gift."
