"We wanted a stainless steel electric teapot. This was the only one that we could find that did not have exposure to plastic. Though there is plastic on the inside. It can be removed easily. The other piece of plastic is just a marker for how high the water can go. We liked this so much that we got some for family as Christmas gifts. Even a year later they are raving about how awesome it is. It was one of the best buys we have ever made, not to mention, a great gift that has been giving to them daily for the last year, that they still talk and brag about. It is by far the best electric teakettle we have encountered."

I used to have Russel Hobbs electrical teakettle before for quite a few years and liked it. Once it was fallen down on a floor and shortly I had to replace this teakettle by another one. I looked through many electrical teakettles: Krups, Black and Decker, Delongi, etc.
There are all were too way big and/or heavy, or cover was plastic. I found that this one, electrical teakettle Russel Hobbs is the best for me! All –metal inside, easy to use and not pricey; could not be better"

"The kettle works fine. Just disappointed that the lid isn't attached and doesn't 'pop up' - you have to take the lid off to fill the kettle. It also doesn't have a water level view area which I prefer so I can see how much water is in the kettle before I add any more."

"Bought this one because it was cheaper than the other overpriced pots. Leaked in < one year. I like having an electric tea kettle though so bought another one. Leaked in < 1 year. Unfortunately I didn't learn my lesson and didn't save the receipt."

"This is my third Hobbs electric tea kettle in the last twenty-five years. I think the only reason they have not lasted longer is due to extremely hard water in places I have lived.

They can be a tad loud, but then, so were my cook-top kettles. It is simply the noise made prior to boiling and something one gets used to in time; or puts up with if wanting boiling hot water.

They are quite efficient; last a long time; and, look nice on the counter. I recommend this kettle to anyone looking for one - especially those making this type of purchase for the first time. You will never use another brand after you have used a Russell Hobbs."

"Let me tell you... when my mother gave me this as a gift, I thought, why do I need this? I have a kettle on my stove that works fine. I was going to return it to the store unopened, but my mother insisted I try it. I fell in love with it the first time I used it. It boils water so fast, it's amazing! It shuts off on it's own, so if you walk away, or get interested in something on the TV... no worries! It looks nice on the counter and frees up your stove top. I make instant oatmeal almost every morning for my son, and I make myself a cup of tea. This does the trick! The water stays hot for a long time too."

"Received this kettle as a gift and it is great !!! Was a bit skeptical as had another brand for over 10+ years, but this kettle is much better. Boils water really hot and quickly, has a large capacity, is lightweight for the volume of water it holds and is attractive so it looks great on my counter. It also keeps the water heated for a long time and the automatic shut-off and cordless features are fab. In addition the base stays cool and it is easy to fill and clean. On the look out for other items in this brand !!! Great practical gift to boot."
