"Bought three of these for me, my mom, and mother in law. We live in the south and eat alot of seafood. This product is great to use afterward. However, the smell does come back. After much uses, I found that afterward I would wash my hands with soap and the smell would finally disappear. So I do recommend this product but with the use of soap. It is more effective that way."

"The first time I ever heard of this kind of product working to get rid of odors from onions, garlic, etc. was actually on the Martha Stewart show. I could never get myself to pay over $10 but a flat piece of metal that I had seen in other stores then I saw this item. It really works. Just make sure you rub hard under warm water."

Modern Convenience for an Old-Fashioned Trick,March 1, 2009

"My Dad being a sheet metal polisher by trade, my Mom had asked him to make her a piece of stainless steel she could use to get rid of food odors (she loves to make soups and stews with garlic, onion, etc.)
He made sort of a flat, awkward disc that she ended up putting aside as it didn't fit comfortably in her hands. She was just rubbing her hands on the sides of the stainless steel sink instead.
...Until this Christmas when I surprised her with this nifty little gift! She was ecstatic that someone had finally come up with a convenient shape for an age-old remedy to those pesky food odors! Such a handy item, it stays on the sink and she reaches for it everytime she needs to remove any odors from her hands. At such a great price, my sister received one for Christmas as well ^_^"

"Yes, any stainless steel item will do the trick....I used to routinely hold my hands under a stream of water run over a stainless steel knife blade. However, this bar is an amazingly convenient format.... The great shape with rounded corners makes it so easy to pick up and maneuver, and it just looks good sitting there!"

"I was sceptical about this. How could a metal bar take the odors away, but it did. It really works. After preparing tuna my hands smell, but this did the trick. After preparing garlic, I can't wash the odor away, but this took away the odor and left my hands sweet and clean. I wouldn't do without it!"

"It's a great idea for a product, so I bought one...only to learn a few weeks later that anything made of stainless steel will remove the smell from your hands if you get it wet and rub it on your hands. Good only if you don't have a single piece of stainless steel in your kitchen."

"Oh, my, thank you thank you thank you. Amazing, amazing, amazing. What a cleaver idea. I actually couldn't believe, after first hearing about this product on the news, believe it or not, that no one had thought of this before. It's so simple, yet so elegant in it's presentation. I really think, even though it is not an expensive item, that it would make a great hostess gift, because it is always the thought that counts, and you thought of her. I know for myself that whenever my hands are near my face, I always would smell garlic. I really love garlic, but I want that scent around me when I want the garlic. I don't want to smell like that all the time. This is an item that says you care about the person, and how they will feel about themselves. (Ít's not as if anyone else realized that my hands had a garlic odor all the time, only me.) Now, I'm happy and relieved, and don't mind cooking with garlic any more, because I know that the scent will only be when and where I want it - - in the food, during the meal. Plus, this item matches the kitchen well, and looks quite nice. Again, thank you!"
