"I beg to differ with the rest of the group's ratings for these glasses. I rate these glasses a 5. They are thin rimmed, but I have not broken one of them and I do put them in the dishwasher. I am just careful where I put them in the dishwasher and certainly I keep them away from other heavy items in the dishwasher. They are elegant and "feel" great when holding them or drinking anything out of them. They are nice enough to use at parties as well as everyday use.
I plan on getting more of them. I have chipped one of them, but none in my set have broken yet and I have had them for about a year now.
For the price at Macy's you can't beat this deal! - Judith"

Wouldn't Recommend,May 11, 2009

"I was excited to find these because they looked very similar to some that I had from Dansk. Unfortunately, as other reviewers have expressed, they break way too easily. My Dansk glasses lasted through 2 moves and approx 10 years. It's been a bit less than a year since I purchased 2 sets each of Martha Stewart Waterman high balls & old fashioneds and now I'm back -- because I only have 4 glasses left.
I'm not hard on my belongings. My Dansk glasses lasted for about 10 years. My dinnerware is still going strong after more than 10 (including college!). These simply are poor quality. I threw away two today after finding a tiny chip at the lip of one and a large slice running down the side of the other.
I'd hoped my experience was just a fluke but after reading the reviews here, I see that it is part for the course. The quality of these is inexcusable."

"These glasses look great and for the price they're ok. But they break easily while washing them, either by hand or dishwasher. I would be afraid to give them to children because they are so fragile. My husband and I are tired of cleaning up broken glass, so for this reason I wouldn't recommend them."

"I love my wine glasses! The glasses are perfect, no bubbles or imperfections and they hang beautifully from our wine cart. We registered for 8 white, 8 red and 8 champagne glasses. No issues with breakage or cracks - but we only hand wash them; we don't use the dishwasher on the stemware."

Beautiful and breakable,January 22, 2009

"These are fantastic-looking glasses - well-proportioned, very clear, no clouding. But I ended up returning all of mine (thanks to Macy's generous bridal registry policies) because, within a few months, several of them chipped at the rim or broke in the dishwasher. It's not worth them looking great if we have to replace them every year."

"We use the Highball and shorter version for everyday drinkware. Highball's are not too durable, as four of our Highball's have broken within the past 8 months (i.e. refilling water from the fridge and top rack dishwasher). The shorter version seem to be more durable. Otherwise, very nice, clean looking drinkware."

"I was looking for some extra, affordable glasses for a party that were classic and simple but still excellent quality. Macy's has always been there for me and now that they carry the Martha Stewart Collection, I'm just in heaven! I bought the Highball and Double Old Fashioned glasses. They are dishwasher safe, pretty and very reasonably priced. I love them and they were a lifesaver for a gathering. Thanks Martha!"
