Can't beat a cast iron skillet!

"Sometimes you just need a cast iron skillet to bring the heat to what you're cooking. This skillet makes great burgers and fried chicken. The consistant heat cooks everything evenly. I've had man types of skillets but for some dishes a cast iron is hard to beat. I also like to take this skillet when I'm cooking outdoors and camping. It's a great size for bacon and eggs and cooking them outside in the fresh air because of the heat retention. I highly recommend this type of skillet and this particular brand be added to your skillet selection!"

Fantastic cast iron skillet

"I don't like buying brand named products such as Emeril or Martha Stewart. However, I bought this Emeril skillet today because I promised to make fried chicken, and this skillet was exactly what I was looking for. {My past precedes me as I grew up in the deep south.} I seasoned the pan per the instructions, and later the same day, made some fabulous fried chicken. The pan heated the oil evenly and perfectly {350 degrees}. I am very pleased with this pan. Please remember that it is very important to oil the pan after cleaning to keep the flavors and keep from rusting {after all, it is cast iron.}"

Best Fried Chicken Ever!

"I purchased this pan in store today in order to make fried chicken. It came out perfectly and the pan was a breeze to clean! I made sure to season it after washing with a drop of oil, a swipe of a paper towel, and five minutes on a low burner."

"Like the previous reviews, I can't stress enough how important it is to season your new cast iron skillet. This is my first one and I already love it. Doesn't overheat, cooks food evenly, and I'm sure the more I use it, the better it's going to get.
Also, it's super heavy so you get a pretty good arm workout as an extra bonus ; )"

"Cast Iron skillets rust if you don't clean them correctly. After you wash the skillet you put a little oil in it and put it on the stove on a very low heat to let the oil soak in.. otherwise it rusts..."

"I have had numerous skillets in the past, expensive & cheap. This is by far the best for even heating, browning & cleaning. Food tastes great that is cooked in it. It is heavy, but it is the one I reach for every time I need to brown something. Can't go wrong!!!"

Cast iron is amazing!

"If you've never used cast iron, note that it does require washing with no or barely any soap. That being said, it heat's evenly and there is nothing better to get a great sear! There's a reason these have been used for centuries."

TOO MUCH MAINTAINANCE

"I bought this skillet based on all the good reviews but I was dissapointed when I received it.
The skillet was already rusting. I read the care instructions but unfortunately I do not want to run my oven for one hour to get rid of the rust.
Maybe I received a lemon but I just don't have the time to take care of this pan."

IT WAS REALLY OLD AND NEVER THOUGHT I'D FIND ANOTHER OF THIS QUALITY AT SUCH A GREAT PRICE. LIFE TIME WARRANTY. JUST REMEMBER TO COAT SLIGHTLY WITH OLIVE OIL AFTER EACH USE AND WIPE WITH PAPER TOWEL. "I didn't think you could buy a real iron skillet anymore, but I was wrong. Macy's had exactly what we were looking for. My daughter, a nutritionist, was looking for an cast-iron pan that increases the iron in a meal, and reduces the risk of other particles getting in food. She's very picky, and I bought this as a gift and she's raving about it. Not only is it cast iron as promised, but it doesn't stick and it handles high heats beautifully. Exactly what a nutritionist would recommend!"
