"I bought this a little over a year ago. I had done a good bit of research on espresso machines before actually deciding on this one, and I am still immensely happy about my desicion. This is a GREAT espresso maker for the price and I have yet to encounter any problems with it. Some things that never bothered me enough to complain, but I think would be deal-breakers for some people are: 1)The frother works well, but I do wish there was a longer spout and higher location so you didn't have to tilt your cup so much to froth milk. 2)You can only fit a cup slightly taller than a shot glass to recieve the espresso. 3) I use the ready made espresso pods instead of fresh grounds, but the tamper for fresh grounds is a useless addition to the machine. You will need to buy your own if you plan on using fresh grounds.
Some people blame the machine when their quality of espresso is not up to par, but to be blunt... it depends on the kind of espresso you buy. I buy the easy serve espresso pods from Starbucks (12 shots for $5) and I get perfect espresso with the distinct layers. If you buy cheap espresso grounds then don't expect it to taste as good and then go and blame the machine.
All in all, I still love this machine and even got one of my friends to buy it. I know that I have saved a ridiculous amount of money in the year that I have had this machine, and the convenience of making a latte at 3 in the morning when studying for finals just can't be beaten."

"LOVED this machine for the first six months but over the long haul it seems to have fallen short. Takes a long time to warm up and is a bit of a pain to clean up. The worst part though is that (at just under a year) the pressure to pump the water through the grounds is insufficient to produce esspresso. Sure I can return it (there is a warranty) but I dont have the receipt, box or gumption to do it. That said, it was good while it lasted. Still probably worth the money because it was such a good deal."

"This machine makes great espresso. I recommend that you turn on the machine and wait 30 minutes for the water to heat before brewing, don't mind the green light, wait 30 minutes and the difference in taste is extremely much better! While the water heats prepare the pancakes, scrambled eggs or whatever you'll eat with the espresso or use that time to shave if you are a male or put on your make up if you are a female, you can do a lot of things during those 30 minutes, it is worth the time, the result is superb espresso! Great price, I recommend it!"

"My first purchase of an espresso machine and I have been pleasantly surprised how good it is. I originally purchased it to be able to make the odd cappuccino and my expectations were low. Many have told me not to bother with machines in this price range because they really don't make a good cappuccino. Not so, the coffee comes out really hot and delicious. The unit warms up quickly and cleaning the unit is easy as long as it is done after each use.
This product is well worth the purchase price and I would recommend it to anyone who loves their espressos and cappuccinos."

"I have had this model for about a month now and I love it! I have had 5 different brands (ranging in price from $60-$400) and this model has been my favorite thus far! What is most impressive is how quickly you can make a drink. If you've ever spent time waiting for your machine to heat up, you know what I'm talking about. It makes a great latte, foams the milk very nicely, and did I mention it's fast! 2 thumbs up!
A word of caution: I've killed alot of machines, mostly due to being hastey and not cleaning it directly after use. Take a few seconds to remove the water from the tank and remove the portafilter and grounds from the machine."

"We have had this expresso maker for 3-4 months. It makes a consistently good expresso quickly. We definitely like the removeable water tank. We use ground expresso instead of pods, so we find the built in tamper is a bit messy. The steaming wand is also somewhat messy and requires immediate removal for cleaning, so we don’t use this anymore. Overall a good quality expresso maker."

"If you're willing to wait at least 20 min for the machine to warm up (don't go by the green OK light!) and want just a double shot of espresso, you would be better off walking to the nearest coffee shop. Steaming milk requires at least another 10 minutes with the machine set to steam temperature (again forget about the green OK light).
The espresso powder holder seems normal, but 50% of its height is a plastic spacer to make foam (crema), so the actual amount of coffee powder is small. The pressure does not seem to be 15 bar, and nowhere can this number be seen in the user documentation. I can make a better and quicker espresso with a stove top machine (I just have to stop the process right after the foam starts to flow, for stronger espresso)."

"I got this machine for christmas and was very pleased wtih it. It is very easy to use and the espresso comes out great and it get hot fast and makes great steam. After having it for a couple of weeks, water started flowing out of the connections inside the mahine on the steam line. I returned the machine and got a more expensive, stainless machine-The Breville Cafe Roma. The machine was not as nearly easy to use and did not get hot enough. I returned this machine and got another De'Longhi. I am so much happier. This machine is very easy to use, makes great espresso and fast and very hot steam. There is more plastic on this machine, and it may not last as long as the Breville, but I saved over $100 on this machine and am much happier with the coffee it makes. If there is a problem next time, I will call customer service and most likely they will solve any issues. I would recommend this machine, as it is very affordable and very easy to use."
