"I bought this set for myself. I've had several sets of china. This set is not only beautiful but versatile. The red blended great with the other xmas reds. I utilized it with holiday linens and it looked gorgeous. On other occasions it has almost a casual but elegant look with other tablescapes. I enjoy using it and would recommend it to all."

"This is a very beautiful set. The material is fine and lightweight, and yet it is safe for dishwashing! Perfect combination. The only thing is that many additional items, like salad and dinner plates are discountinued. We should demand from Mikasa to restart the production :) By the way, if anyone knows where can I get some plates, please post :)"

"I ordered Parchment red 40 piece set after getting tired of searching hi and lo for my discontinued Royal Doulton china. I couldn't resist after seeing continuous gushing reviews.
The set is absolutely beautiful and I was even more impressed when I saw it in person. I love that the set is dishwasher safe.
My Thanksgiving Table looked gorgeous and I paired it with my cream and gold rimmed Royal Doulton china (Julianne) by setting the RD salad plate on top of the Parchment Red dinner plate for a nice contrast.
I also would love more serving pieces. I can't say enough about how thrilled I am with this set."

"I am very proud to display my Parchment Red collection I only use it on special occasions, with confidents that it will be a show stopper, I have never recieved so many compliments on my china before. I would suggest this for anyone looking for quality in design and performance, I would like to add more pieces like a tea pot , sugar bowl and creamer if it becomes avaible. please notify me, when avaible, delighted customer."

"This set is absolutely beautiful. I was impressed to with the color and detail. It is more red than burgundy, but the color blends right in with my reds & golds and looks great inside my china cabinet. But it will remain only "special occasion" dinnerware. The value is absolutely impressive. I am looking forward to seeing the gravy bowl, platters and servers added on to this collection. Overall, I am completely satisfied and I would definitely recommend this product. Also, to be seen is the Mikasa Parchment Platinum & the Mikasa Parchment Blue. Simply beautiful...."

"I've been looking for beautiful china and the Mikasa Parchment Red fits the bill. The color is a lighter, slightly more orange-red than appears on my computer (my computer shows them a deep cherry red) but the color is very beautiful none the less. The gold accent scrolling just pops against the red and these dishes are FAR MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN THEY APPEAR ON THE COMPUTER SCREEN. I cannot wait to dress up our Christmas table with these dishes. They'd be perfect for Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day.... any day for that matter. They're gorgeous!! I was drooling over the thought of buying them for $199 on sale and decided to wait until next year but the price dropped again for the holiday sale and I just had to get them. In fact, I ordered 2 sets as we always have a crowd. I am so pleased I did. Order these! You will be glad you did!"

"We bought (2) 42 pc settings just based on the online photos. When the originals arrived, we were ECSTATIC. This pattern is even prettier in person. The red is gorgeous - not too dark... not too light... it's perfect! I just can't say enough good things about it. I wish there were more accessory pieces available with it; however, this pattern can easily be mixed around with crystal pieces or similar plain white china pieces (provided you like a varied look on the table) if you don't see the serving piece you want in this exact pattern."

"I have just purchased the Mikasa Parchment Red Collection from Macy*s this week. It is so beautiful, and I will use it as my formal dining china.
I purchased the 40 peice dining set from the store directly, and was so impressed when I got them home and set the table with them. I purchased some vegetable bowls, creamer and sugar bowl to match from Macy*s online today.
I would only purchase from Macy*s or Macy*s online, there are other deals out there for the same collection, but I only trust giving my personal information to Macy*s. They are courteous and their customer service is very reliable too."

"The Mikasa Parchment Red Collection is a must have. I originally registered for the set for my wedding with the intention of using it only during the holidays--after all its beautiful colors and pattern are festive yet subtle. I have, however, found myself using our set more frequently as I have falllen in love with the stunning cranberry-red band and gold scrolls that have added warmth and richness to our dinnertable. The Parchment Red is FINE CHINA that is DISHWASHERSAFE. Not only is it gorgeous and elegant as fine china is supposed to be, but it's also so easy to use that it's wonderful for your table for everyday use. You don't have to wait for the holiday season or a special occasion to use this set. We use ours all the time and we absolutely love it!"
