"I have used this product for 11 months. Uptmost is the quality of the coffee that it brews, whether I use a store brand or a gourmet bean! I am also pleased with it's compactness and that it is visual pleasing and not obtrusive, therefore, I have no qualms about leaving the unit on my countertop, complimenting my kitchen decor! I love the filter insert and the ease of cleaning. Another great feature are the raised water level indicators which are extemely easy to read."

"This convenient coffee maker makes great coffee! The problem is the design of the carafe. You can never serve coffee at the table! I have to pour the coffee over the sink because it always spills over the sides of the lip of the carafe. When Cuisinart corrects the this design I would buy another one."

"One star because the "overall rating" is required. Terrible product - doesn't stop dripping EVER when you remove the carafe. The water spills over and out of the filter basket when you make a full 4-cup pot. I've had this for 2 months trying to make it work and it simply is a piece of junk. Doubt that I will purchase any cuisinart product again. I'm going back to the simpler Mr. Coffee - never had a problem with that brand."

"I brought this little pot to replace my, Hot Pot maker it was like a single cup of coffee maker, or I used it to heat water. I decided to buy this coffee maker over a electric tea pot, because I can still make a small pot of coffee. I am a single guy who doesn't need to make a big pot of coffee in the morning. I also can heat water in it, and reheat by letting the heat plate on it reheat it a little. This little pot fits my needs prefectly."

"The coffee pot drips most of the time. I hold my cup over the sink each time I pour to avoid getting aggravated. I'm not sure what the problem is but it is very disappointing. Must be a design flaw. I did see a similar comment today. I've thought of returning it but don't know if I have the receipt anymore. I bought it around this time last year. I think Cuisinart should replace the coffee pot"

"This is a great little pot and the price was excellent. My son and I both drink one large cup in the morning. It makes just the right amount and only stays on for 1/2 hour which is also great. We don't even have to turn it off. The coffee is hot and tastes great. I like the SS carafe as I don't have to worry about it breaking and it cleans up great."

"The pot drips coffee on the counter every time you pour from it. I now hold my cup over the sink while pouring. I have read several reviews on this site which complain of the same problem and I knew immediately what they were talking about. I took time to study the problem. The problem is not the lid. The problem is, the gel sealant that attaches the black plastic rim to the stainless steel pot comes loose and allows hot coffee to escape from under the rim. I want Cuisinart to fix this design and replace my pot."

"This coffee maker is the worst. It shuts it self off after less than an hour. In the morning I get up and make my coffee and take a shower, by the time I get back downstairs the coffee has already shut it self off. I am the only coffee drinker in my house which is why a four cup is perfect for me, I have not yet found a four cup that I like, and I have tried many of them!!"

"It's perfect for a single person like myself who just likes to brew 1-2 cups of fresh coffee at a time. Very modern looking, easy to clean, takes up little counterspace; makes flavorful coffee consistently. I find the automatic shut off not only convenient, but a great safety feature. Initially, I also experienced spilling/dripping when pouring, but discovered it was merely due to the lid not being inserted firmly and tightly to form a seal; once I learned to do this correctly, there were no more spills/drips. There are not many small auto drips on the market, particularly ones that actually make good coffee like this one, so I would definitely recommend it."

"I have to agree with one of the previous, negative reviews here. I bought this coffee maker from Macy's about a year ago to replace my trusty, but decade-old Krups coffee maker. I'm sorry I did because I've never been happy with it. On the plus side, the Cuisinart looks great and doesn't take up much counter space. Another plus: it produces hot, not warm, coffee. Nevertheless, it is poorly designed. The most notable problem is the lid on the carafe. It sort of fits like a square peg in a round hole. Consequently, expect to spill coffee when pouring. Also the heating unit turns off after about 15 minutes. Very annoying. Other aspects of the coffee maker make the product feel flimsy. The lid on the reservoir recently broke. I'm currently shopping for a new coffee maker. But this time, I'm buying one from Krups."

"This is a great coffee maker for a college kid, single person or anyone who hasn't owned their own coffee maker before. It's pretty much all plastic and doesn't seem like it would survive a great fall. And I don't think it actually brews 4 cups-at least not my size of cup. I usually fill the water to the "3 cup" mark and it comes out to almost 2 cups brewed. But I like the automatic shutoff, the fact that it doesn't take up too much space on my counter, and it actually does brew a good cup a of coffee. I also bought the gold tone filter so I don't have to use paper filters. I read the other reviews about the spillage problems with the carafe but I haven't experienced the same. But then again, I only usually brew 2-3 cups at a time. There are a lot of fancy coffee and expresso makers out there. They usually run from 200-700$ or more. If you have owned one of those fancy coffee makers you will probably be disappointed by this one. But for the price, this one does the job just fine for me."

"The lid doesn't really fit. It doesn't pour without spilling. The one feature it is supposed to have (stop brew for a few seconds when you remove the carafe) doesn't work. The coffee doesn't stay hot on the burner, even for 5 minutes. It amazes me that this little thing made it all the way into production when it makes such a mess. Don't waste your money like I did!!! Instead, spend $50, get a great coffee maker that won't stain your countertops!"
