"I love it! Good value too. I actually watched the video that came with it and found it to be very helpful. I also placed a call to support...(it was the operator!) and they too were so helpful and nice. I would recommend this model for anyone who hates to chop, slice and grate. "This is the first food processor I bought to puree food for my 6 month old daughter and I love it. It is strong yet quiet. The downside is it is a little heavy, but I'm still very happy that I bought a great processor. It is easy to operate and to clean."

"My first food processor in 20 years! I love this. It is beautiful on my countertop, sturdy, does not move when processing and amazingly quiet. Macys has the best pricing! Watch it as the price will go down considerably for different sales.
Pros: price, quality,powerful motor, function, easy clean, great size for chopping, sauces and pureeing soups
Cons: small feed tube
I have shredded cabbage, carrots, chopped garlic, peppers, onions.
It works fast. You must cut veggies to fit feed tube, halving tomatos, zucchini, large veggies. I may never use my cutting board and knife again LOL Luv it!"

"This processor makes quick work of most tasks. I primarily use it to shred hard vegetable (carrots) chop onions and to make hummus. It's much, much quieter than a cheapo model I had years ago. Unless your cooking for a crowd I think you wouldn't need a bigger size than this. Getting used to the attachments and the operation presented a bit of a challenge for me, but it was well worth it. It comes with a reasonably helpful DVD. Also comes with an attachment for kneading dough which I have yet to use. One minor critique is that this thing can be a challenge to clean properly. The blade has nooks that are hard to reach and there are a lot of separate plastic pieces that need washing at the end of a job. The base is also surprisingly heavy- guess that's the price you pay for such a powerful motor."

"i've been using this food processor model since 2001. my old one is still going strong, but i recently purchased a new one in a different color. i use it mostly for hummus, pesto sauce, and slicing veggies, but have made salsa and pie crusts... and plan to try the potato pancake and chocolate chip cookie recipes in the manual (i love that it comes w/recipes). i have so much fun using it that i sometimes feel like experimenting. just for the artistry of what it does with the food - and so fast!

in my opinion, this is the best food processor Cuisinart makes. i've tried the newer models and they're annoyingly complicated with the new (unnecessarily) huge feed tubes and extra parts. i was given a newer one as a gift, in fact (the 11-cup PowerPrep Plus), and ended up returning it because it was too cumbersome to use/clean/store with all the extra pieces. seriously - i used it a few times for a couple months, but every time, i'd have to ask myself, "how do i do this again?" i finally realized i was avoiding using it because it was a nuisance.

after 40 years, my mother "upgraded" from this model and now owns a brand new 11-cup (Pro Custom?). she's never even used it because it's so much more complicated than her old one.

this older, wonderfully simple model has:
~ONE (metal) chopping disc
~3mm slicing disc with ATTACHED stem
~shredding disc with ATTACHED stem
~bowl, lid (with ONE simple feeder tube), and pusher
~spatula

**IMPORTANT: i recently did some research found out that:

1) there are no other discs *with attached stems* made for this unit. so if you do want any additional discs, you'd buy the detachable stem (Model #DLC-139TX-1) and affix that to the disc(s) you want. (i called Cuisinart directly to make sure that that stem model works with this specific unit and won't break the machine! i would like to buy just one additional disc, the 6mm "thick" disc.)

2) this unit has apparently been discontinued! i'm frustrated because it's the simplest, easiest-to-use unit, and they're dropping it in favor of these silly and annoying newer models. oh well. i never buy discontinued products because i hate getting attached to things that won't be available in the future...but i've made an exception for this. i almost want to buy 1-2 spares in case anything happens to my current one.

anyway, if you're looking for a simple, fun-to-use processor, but with a decently sized workbowl, this is your machine. :-)"

"I have been using this a lot since I recently purchased it online and I have been extremely satisfied so far. When it arrived I was quite surprised how big it was and loved the chrome / black design.
Thus far I have using this for shredding cheese, making pesto, and making nut butters. It runs so smoothly and not as loud as others I have heard. Cleaning is simple, if you take special notice of the blade because that thing is SHARP!
The shredding disc that comes with this product is perfect for cheese (I haven't tried the slicing disc yet). No pressure needs to be exerted, it will go down and shred nice and evenly.
I highly recommend this. It's a great gift for newly weds, graduates, or anyone looking for the easiest solution to prep dishes."
